Continuum is looking for an HR Manager to support our Jamaica based operation in Montego Bay and Kingston. Based in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the Senior HR Manager will support and oversee day-to-day HR support for a Customer Care business with 1,800+ employees. Ideal candidate will have prior BPO Customer Care and experience in Jamaican Labour practices and remuneration as well as excellent leadership, multitasking and problem-solving skills. The position is responsible for ensuring consistency of approach in talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, talent development, training, and HR Operations. They lead the overall HR support to ensure compliance and employee life cycle support and oversee the HR personnel to ensure all human resources activities are in compliance with relevant local and statutory laws, as well as implement and oversee programs related to employee benefits and initiatives. Insurance programs, flexible work arrangement programs, maternity leave, open enrollment programs, and vacation and sick leave benefits are overseen by the human resources manager as well. The human resources (HR) manager oversees policies, procedures and compliance relating to employees in Jamaica. oversees the work of an HR team of human resources personnel, offering guidance, training and discipline as needed. This position also ensures that their workplace is accommodating and free of harassment, handling any complaints in accordance with company policy and any relevant labour laws. This role has oversight and responsibility for operations in Jamaica.
This role has a high level of autonomy to operate in conjunction with the Business Unit Leaders to help drive business results and build a culture of engagement. The Senior HR Manager acts as HR Business Partner to the Leadership Team and is responsible to help develop a strategic approach to human resources that creates an engage workplace and a Company that attracts and retains talent. The right candidate should also be adept in building collaborative working relationships with team members, other departments and peers. This role reports to the Vice President International HR based in U.S. and is responsible for ensuring alignment and support of company initiatives set at the global and regional levels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with functional HR Team to develop appropriate human resource policies and standards to ensure effective, fair and equitable management of employees throughout the organization.
- Work with Regional Talent Acquisition to build company branding initiatives and recruitment and selection process that results in build a strong pipeline of talent.
- Work closely with compensation and benefit global COE to review and determine appropriate salary ranges, pay adjustments and incentive plans
- Establish career progression paths that result in compensation for more advanced tasks and contribute toward employee engagement and retention.
- Ensure up to date employment policies in line with local legislation and practices that foster and build strong employee engagement
QUALIFICATIONS
- HR experience in the customer care transaction processing industry with 5+ years of HR Managerial experience
- Excellent knowledge and experience in Jamaica Labour practices specifically related to on-boarding, employee disciplinary and remuneration practices.
- Strong business partner and demonstrated track record of contributing both strategically and tactically at a consistently high level
- Must possess strong leadership skills and show ability to unite and motivate a team, delegate tasks, communicate expectations and take corrective actions when needed Up to date knowledge of HR policies, processes and tools across the region
- Good verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate with multinational network individuals as well as the local agency.
- Strong working knowledge with Labour Law and able to work with review and maintenance of company engagement, onboarding and exit of employees.
- Degree in Human Resources / Employee Relations or equivalent experience with a Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communications skills
- Proficient in English
- Professional certification in Industrial Relations would be an asset
